A manager doesn’t care about the growth of his team member, all he is concerned about his growth using their efforts. But a leader tries to encourage his team first, then think about himself later. Therefore, a manager needs to be a person who can manage his work stuff along with his team members career growth irrespective of his profit. There are number of characteristics for a leader and boss which goes hand in hand. The leader is full of ideas, innovation and takes the organization towards future and advancement. Whereas, boss oversees performance and assures productivity. The leader defines vision and manager is in command of mission to approach that vision. The leader gives a solution while manager implements a strategy for it. A leader influences his subordinate to achieve a specified goal, whereas a manager is a person who manages the entire organization. A leader possesses the quality of foresightedness while a manager has the intelligence. A leader sets directions, but a manager plans details. A leader takes charge, is influential, and sets an example. The manager has responsibilities and is able to delegate and implement plans.
